The Sports Surgery Clinic (SSC) is one of the first dedicated orthopaedic and sports surgery clinics in Europe. The facility has been meticulously planned from both a design and structural perspective with a key focus on delivering a world class medical, surgical, nursing and paramedical team.

The Orthopaedics department has four ultra clean air operating theatres. The entire clinical team benefit from instant access to all digital modalities. As well as this they gain from the efficiencies created by the touch panel and voice controlled minimally invasive equipment, such as the camera light source, shave and pump.

The Orthosuite or Operating theatres can accommodate a full range of both simple and complex orthopaedic procedures. All rooms are ultra clean air latest generation Howth/ Smith & Nephew theatres with fully digital audio visual equipment digital image capture, real time documentation of procedures and the option of live interaction between consultants. This technology, combined with the expertise of the consultant, minimises the time a patient needs to spend in surgery. It also reduces the risk of infection or post operative complications and optimizes patient recovery time and overall outcome.
