Isokinetics

Our Cybex Isokinetics machine provides an objective measure of muscle strength. Having the appropriate strength, power and endurance of the muscles around a joint is an important factor in decreasing symptoms and increasing function. Isokinetic muscle assessment identifies and quantifies any deficits in muscle function. Subsequent training (either on the Cybex or using gym equipment) aims to correct these deficits and therefore improve function.

Medical rehabilitation gym

Our medical rehabilitation gym is approved for medical use to achieve both fitness and medical objectives. It comprises of resistance and cardiovascular equipment which is driven by compressed air rather than free weight stacks as seen in most traditional gym. The gymnasium software allows us to create a safe and personalised programme for our patients. The system collects the workout data automatically so there is no manual record keeping. The patients progress is monitored and programs are easily and safely progressed. The Medical Rehabilitation Gym is suitable for all ages and abilities and is an excellent facility to both restore and to maintain your function.

Bracing

We stock a variety of rigid and soft braces which can be used for pain management, injury prevention, the treatment of chronic conditions and to aid in recovery after surgery or injury. They can be for everyday use or for use in sport. We can assess your needs and prescribe the appropriate brace for you.

Orthotics prescription

Orthotics are devices which are inserted into the shoe to prevent or correct deformities that may cause pain or cause altered movement patterns. They also help to improve function by improving support and alignment of the body structures. Orthotics can be off the shelf or made to measure depending on your needs. A detailed biomechanical assessment will assess which product is right for you.
