The Facility

The SSC features 67 in-patient beds in addition to 21 Day case beds, 4 open air operating theatres, world class Diagnostic Imaging department, Physiotherapy department, Wellness and Health Screening along with dedicated research laboratories, testimony to the institutions commitment to research and cutting edge developments in Orthopaedic surgery.

Twenty on site consulting rooms ensure rapid and smooth access to consultant expertise on a continuous basis. The clinic is 130,000sq ft on a 2.5 acre site.

Innovative clinical thinking has been central to the design and completion of the SSC. This is evidenced by the first fully digital Operating Room Suite in Ireland, which will optimize surgical outcomes.

For the first time in this country, all aspects of orthopaedic and sports medicine care can be delivered in one location, ensuring that patient diagnosis, treatment and recovery times are enhanced.

The commitment to leading innovative technology is seen in the installation of the 3Tesla GE MRI scanner, the first of its kind in Ireland, delivering superior image resolution and quality, thus supporting a centre of excellence in the assessment and treatment of soft tissue injuries.
