We are delighted to announce that this week, UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic successfully performed our first Stryker Mako Robotics Total Knee Replacement case, led by Mr. Niall Hogan.
This milestone represents a significant step forward for SSC in adopting robotic-assisted surgery, reflecting our ongoing commitment to advancing patient care through innovation and state-of-the-art technology.
The Stryker Mako Robotic-Arm Assisted System, distributed in Ireland by Tekno Surgical, brings the next generation of precision in joint replacement. By enabling a personalised 3D surgical plan and providing real-time guidance throughout the procedure, Mako supports enhanced accuracy, consistency, and tailored outcomes for our patients.
Congratulations to Mr. Hogan and all involved in delivering this first case at UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic.
We would like to thank the Tekno Surgical Mako Product Specialist, Andrea, who ensured meticulous preparation before the procedure and supported our theatre team with pre-checks—a special thanks also to Christel DeBeer and Shelley Padley from Tekno for their expertise and ongoing support.
We celebrated this milestone together with our colleagues and partners — a proud and memorable moment for SSC.
