Mr Michael Leonard, is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon at UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic, specialising in knee and hip surgery.
Hip and knee joint replacement (including partial knee replacement ) and revision joint replacement.
Soft tissue arthroscopic knee preservation surgery – anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, meniscal injuries .
Education & Experience
Mr. Michael Leonard is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at UPMC Sports Surgery Clinic, Tallaght University Hospital and Naas General Hospital. He is also a senior lecturer in trauma and orthopaedics at Trinity College Dublin.
Mr. Leonard graduated from Trinity College Dublin in 2002. He was awarded a master’s degree in surgery from Trinity College in 2007. He then completed the higher surgical training scheme in trauma and orthopaedic surgery (Royal College of Surgeons) and was awarded the fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in trauma and orthopaedic surgery in 2011.
Clinical Research & Professional Memberships
Mr. Leonard completed advanced sub-specialty fellowship training in soft tissue arthroscopic knee surgery, joint replacement and trauma in Europe and Australia from 2012-2013. He has published numerous peer-reviewed articles on orthopaedic surgery and has presented his work at multiple international meetings.
