I hurt my left knee in the early 70s in a motorbike race , in 1979 the cartilage was removed in Musgrave park hospital in a Belfast, this was great for a number of years but after all the fun runs maracycles ,parachute jump and working as a mechanical fitter 6 days per week I had a bendy leg and suffering a lot of pain . At that time the cross border initiative was in place and I was successful in getting help from them . I contacted Sports Surgery Clinic  in December 2020 and was contacted promptly , bearing in mind this happened during covid restrictions . I came to Santry for a consultation and was given a date in April 2021 . I was given exercises to do before the op and my surgeon Dan Withers explained the procedure and set my mind at ease . I entered Santry for my operation on a Friday and was out on Monday morning . The procedure has been a great success and I have been able to continue working and I will soon be 70 . I must say the treatment , food and friendly staff had my admiration and I cannot thank the enough . Here is a photo of myself fitting a motor 6 months after my total knee surgery.
