Jerry Flannery, Luke Fitzgerald, Felix Jones, Brent Pope and well known pundit George Hook were on hand to join in the fun and games. Jerry and Luke led drills on the specially installed indoor rugby pitch and later signed jerseys and balls while chatting with their fans. They had a lot to discuss; 2009 has been an incredible year of celebration for Irish Rugby fans!
Kicking competitions, a “Strong Man” demonstration and the Scrum Clinic entertained kids of all ages throughout the day while visitors were fascinated to learn how flexible, or inflexible, they were at the Sports Surgery Clinic testing area. The SSC team helped ambitious rugby fans to improve their core stability and their gait as well as testing levels of muscle mass versus body fat and demonstrating strapping techniques to the watching crowd. Meanwhile the Sports Surgery Clinic Seminar area was packed with coaches and players who soaked up expert advice from Dr. Eanna Falvey, Mr. Niall Hogan, Mr. Tom McCarthy, Alison Quinn and Eilis Dolan. Seminars covered injury prevention, training and fitness testing techniques as well coping with hip, knee and back injuries sustained on and off the pitch. If you are worried about your fitness or have a sports injury Sports Surgery Clinic is the ideal place to get it checked out. The clinic can help with all types of injuries and have agreements with all major health insurers.
SSC was a perfect partner for the Rugby Show as the clinic has a very special link with the sport; Dr. Éanna Falvey, who spoke in the Seminar area throughout the weekend, is the current team Doctor to the Irish Rugby Team and another of the clinics speakers, Mr. Niall Hogan, is a former Irish Rugby Captain.
