Mr. Patrick McCabe is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon at UPMC Sports Surgery
Clinic, Tallaght University Hospital and Naas General Hospital.
Mr. McCabe graduated from the University College Dublin School of Medicine in
2015 having previously completed a Masters in Bioengineering at Trinity College
Dublin. Patrick completed his Higher Specialist Training in Orthopaedic Surgery at
the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland and was awarded the fellowship of the
Royal College of Surgeons in trauma and orthopaedic surgery in 2023.
Mr. McCabe completed international fellowships in hip and knee joint reconstruction,
trauma surgery and complex hip and knee replacement and revision surgery at St
Michael’s Hospital, University of Toronto and subsequently at the Complex
Arthroplasty Unit in St. Georges Hospital in London.
Mr. McCabe’s subspecialty interests include both routine and complex hip and knee
replacements, unicompartmental knee replacements, knee arthroscopy and robotic
surgery.
Mr. McCabe has published numerous peer-reviewed articles in orthopaedic and
trauma surgery and has presented extensively at international conferences. Patrick
is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Ireland (FRCSI), a member of the
British and the European Bone and Joint Infection Societies (BAJIS) & (EBJIS) and a
member of the Irish Institute for Trauma and Orthopaedic Surgery (IITOS).
