Ann-Maria Byrne

Ms Ann-Maria Byrne is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon and upper limb specialist.  She has a special interest in elbow, wrist and hand surgery, including open and arthroscopic surgery.
Ann-Maria graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 2001. During her undergraduate years, she spent time studying in surgery in the Mayo Clinic Rochester Minnesota, USA and following receiving first class honours in medicine and surgery, she was awarded the Johnston-Willis Scholarship to study in Richmond, Virginia, USA. During her postgraduate training, she completed the RCSI Irish National Training Programme in Trauma and Orthoapedics. She went on to fellowship training at the Wrightington Upper Limb Unit, UK where she was exposed to a range of upper limb problems and their surgical management. She continued her fellowship training at the Antwerp Orthopaedic Centre, Belgium where she trained in the treatment of hand, wrist and forearm injuries. She also worked there with Professor Dokter Roger van Riet, training in the management of elbow injuries, elbow arthroscopy, joint replacement and complex upper limb reconstruction in patients of all ages.
She has published several book chapters and peer review articles in the surgical literature.

Neil Burke

Mr Neil Burke is a consultant orthopaedic surgeon with a specialist interest in hip and knee surgery. Neil specialises in computer navigated total knee replacement, partial knee replacement, total hip replacement and sports knee Injuries. He is also a Consultant at Beaumont Hospital and Cappagh National Orthopaedic Hospital.

Neil completed a highly regarded lower limb reconstruction fellowship in Auckland, New Zealand. He completed his higher surgical training scheme in Trauma and Orthopaedics in 2016, and is currently a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI) in Trauma and Orthopaedics and also in Sports and Exercise Medicine.

Neil has over 30 research publications in peer-reviewed journals and is also the author of several book chapters. He has presented at numerous national and international scientific conferences. He was awarded the prestigious Lipman-Kessel prize for his research for his Masters of Surgery.
